Greetings!
As we watch the sun rise and the flowers bloom, it reminds us of starting fresh and beginning anew. Have you ever tried to change something in your life, like saying “l’ll do things differently” and actually succeeded? Or maybe you didn’t make it? Making big changes in life can be tough, especially when we’re doing it by choice, not because we have to. It’s even harder when those changes involve our health, relationships, or jobs, and we can’t always see the results right away.
This month is Stress Awareness and Alcohol Awareness Month. It’s interesting they’re both in the same month, right? Let’s think about the things that stress us out that might result in drinking too much. Ever said “I’ll never do that again” but found yourself doing it anyway? Saying “always or “never” can cause a hopeless feeling. It’s hard to do something forever. What if we try making small changes instead? Notice the little things you did differently today or this past week. You don’t have to be perfect. Letting go of the idea of always, never , and perfection and appreciating the small victories can help reduce stress and maybe cut down on over consumption.
