FINAL Greetings of 2024!

Merry Christmas! Can you believe it? The year is ending. I would like to end the year by sharing my gratitude.

THANK YOU! I am beyond grateful for your readership, friendship, connection and support. Without you whether you are a client, friend, family member, community member, or a reader, I couldn’t do my work without you. There are many ways YOU help ME support others. CONNECTION is valuable and lifesaving.

COMMUNITY is imperative. Support from another can be a bridge from thinking about ending life to LIVING - full of hope and joy. I’ve seen it happen in my office. It’s truly remarkable to be a part of someone’s life giving, life finding journey. Did you know that YOU can be that bridge to someone’s life giving journey too? How do you see yourself giving to others in small ways?

It is because connection and relationship are so valuable to the therapeutic and life process that I am thrilled to be able to be a part of a documentary a fellow runner in my running community has created. When I saw AJ Johnson’s call to action, I immediately wanted to support his vision. His documentary, Run CommUNITY, delves into how running in community can be equally beneficial to our mental health as it is to our physical health. There are a few surprises in the film, too! I’m excited to support such a beautiful, hopeful, inspiring community project.

While we wrap up the year, let us not forget to stay connected, celebrate the communities we are involved in, and embrace those who may be NEEDING commUNITY at this time of year. Truly, together, we can make a difference in our own lives and the lives of others.

Merry Christmas, and while you’re out there, if you can… Share a smile!

Christmas Joy and Blessings,

Shara Smile Update!

Please join me in welcoming Sierra, who is shadowing me as part of her counseling coursework while she works toward completing her degree. It is truly a privilege to have her alongside me, and it brings back fond memories of those I had the opportunity to shadow early in my own journey. The guidance and inspiration I received from my mentors left a lasting impact, and I hope to provide Sierra with a similarly meaningful experience as she embarks on this exciting path in the world of counseling.

Sierra Williams and Shara Carter

Hi, I’m Sierra Williams! I’m originally from Pismo Beach, California, and moved to the Franklin area in September 2023. I’ve had the rewarding experience of working with foster youth and families as a behavioral therapist in a wraparound program. While I loved my job, I felt continuing my education would help serve these clients in a greater capacity. I’m pursuing my master’s in counseling and care at Faith International University, and I plan to graduate in March. I am passionate about seeing people reach their full potential and live peacefully. I’m really looking forward to sitting in on sessions with Shara and getting to know you!
