September Newsletter - 2022

Cooler days and nights, pumpkin spice, crisp leaves, a fire in the fire pit...Autumn is HERE!

As your kids/ teens (or maybe you!) return to SCHOOL, I am wondering if you think of Autumn as a "new beginning" like I do? WELL, this year offers a different "new beginning" for me. It was one year ago today that I started, full-time self-employment at my business, Shara Smile, LLC. With my business moving into its second year of life, I'd like to take time to THANK everyone who has supported me, I can't imagine myself doing anything else.

Of course, I appreciate my CLIENTS for trusting me, allowing me into their sacred spaces, and doing the hard work they do every day. I am so proud of my clients when they think about a new technique, start a new pattern, try something we discussed in session for the first or fiftieth time, and TAKE CHANCES that lead to CHANGE!

Speaking of HARD WORK and CHANGE, September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. There is so much I'd like to share about suicidal thoughts, noticing someone that might be suicidal, talking with someone that may be having these thoughts. Instead of sharing it all here, I am posting some resources and articles that may be helpful to read. BUT KNOW THIS: The NUMBER ONE MYTH about suicide is that TALKING about suicide will encourage a suicide attempt. The fact is that talking about ideas and thoughts surrounding suicide opens the door to communication and fears CAN diminish. While these conversations need to be handled carefully, it's important to ASK someone if they are having these thoughts and GET HELP if you feel your loved one needs it. WE ALL need to talk about suicide more often and reduce the fear and stigma surrounding having these conversations.

PLEASE, PLEASE, take some time to look over these resources so YOU can be a help to someone in need! Let's make an impact on these statistics! SUICIDE IS PREVENTABLE!

Please enjoy the rest of your summer, be safe, and while you're out there, if you can...

SHARE A SMILE!

Thoughtfully,

Shara Carter
